Research Scientist at the Center for Assistive Technology and Environmental Access
Harris is a medical anthropologist. Her current work is in the areas of disability, assistive technology (AT), and outcomes research. She joined the research staff at the Center for Assistive Technology and Environmental Access (CATEA) in 2004 to lead a research project investigating activity and participation among wheelchair users. Currently, she is working to examine the effects of specialized wheelchairs on health, activity and participation and on the relationship between environment and participation. She is also working on a project that will assess the effects of workplace accommodations on participation.
